Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation Awards the “Cesar Pie Cyber Defender Scholarship”

During its annual Evening of Excellence ceremony held at The Music Center at Strathmore, Bethesda, MD on May 19, 2025, the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation (MCPSEF) awarded nearly 200 scholarships and awards including CSIOS Corporation’s Cesar Pie Cyber Defender Scholarship.Every year, MCPSEF celebrates and recognizes the accomplishments of Maryland’s Montgomery County students for outstanding scholarly achievements and citizenship. This year, among others, MCPSEF selected 5 graduating seniors pursuing post-secondary studies and careers in the field of cybersecurity as winners of the Cesar Pie Cyber Defender Scholarship.

Named after CSIOS’ Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer, veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, renowned cyber strategist, and influential Hispanic leader in the field of cybersecurity, the annual $50,000 Cesar Pie Cyber Defender Scholarship was established to help make careers in the cybersecurity industry more accessible to underrepresented minority group students across MCPS.

“Giving young students a chance at a brighter educational future brings us, students, and their families, a great level of happiness.” said Cesar Pie, President and CEO of CSIOS Corporation. Mr. Pie added, “Through our scholarship, we help empower cyber students to pursue their dreams, promote diversity in higher cyber education, and enable low-income students access to high-quality cyber education. CSIOS Corporation announced today the inclusion of CSIOS President, Mr. Cesar Pie, in the esteemed 2025 HITEC 100 list honoring the most influential Hispanic executives in technology.

Every year, HITEC recognizes the achievements and contributions of the top US–based Hispanic technology executives with the goal of celebrating their impactful leadership and inspiring others looking to build careers in technology. HITEC’s vision is to accelerate the power and impact of Hispanic technology leaders, achieving lasting equity from the classroom to the boardroom.

Forty-six percent of this year’s HITEC 100 Award recipients are Latinas and recipients come from 16 unique countries from throughout Latin America, Spain and Portugal. Recipients are leaders from 65 different companies and 38 percent are being recognized with the HITEC 100 Award for the first time.

CSIOS Honored with Montgomery County Board of Education’s Distinguished Service to Public Education Award

CSIOS Corporation announced today that it was recognized by the Montgomery County Board of Education with theDistinguished Service to Public Education award. Established in 1997, this award recognizes individuals, groups, and organizations that have made exemplary contributions to public education in Maryland's Montgomery County.

In partnership with the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation, CSIOS volunteered cyber experts and provided key donations to enhance several cyber programs. Together, they also established “The Cesar Pie Cyber Defender Scholarship Fund.” This is an “annually recurring” and “in perpetuity” $10,000.00 scholarship designed to make careers in the cybersecurity industry more accessible to underrepresented minority group students.

CSIOS Corporation’s Vice President of Cyberspace Operations, Mr. Clinton Hackney, was recognized as the 2024Continuous Improvement and Optimization Expert of the Yearby Cybersecurity Excellence Awards®.

The Cybersecurity Excellence Awards® is an annual competition honoring individuals and companies that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and leadership in information security. The finalists and winners are selected based on the strength of their nomination as well as the popular vote by members of the Information Security Community.

CSIOS Corporation has named Mr. Saeng Saengduangchan to the role of Corporate Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

CSIOS Board of Directors officially approved Mr. Saengduangchan’s appointment effective January 2, 2024. In this capacity, Mr. Saengduangchan will be the principal executive responsible for overseeing the implementation and advancement of corporate technology programs and innovation initiatives with emphasis in full spectrum cyberspace operations and cybersecurity services for current client programs and future growth opportunities. He will also work with line organizations in all areas related to science and technology across the company and help recruit technical talent to meet our customer’s ever–changing mission needs.

CSIOS Corporation has named Mr. Travis Tyrer to the role of Executive Director, Defensive Cyberspace Operations.

CSIOS Board of Directors officially approved Mr. Tyrer’s appointment effective January 2, 2024. In this capacity, Mr. Tyrer will provide leadership, oversight, management, and guidance to all DCO programs, projects, and/or other initiatives as directed by CSIOS President and VP of Cyberspace Operations. Mr. Tyrer will also manage and advance the company’s DCO program priorities, including strategic planning and execution, resource management, and workforce training and development.

“Mr. Tyrer is a distinguished and decorated U.S. Army veteran recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Meritorious Service Medals. CSIOS Corporation has named Mr. Tyson Gee to the role of Corporate Chief Compliance Officer (COO).

CSIOS Board of Directors officially approved Mr. Gee’s appointment effective January 2, 2024. In this capacity, Mr. Gee will be the principal executive responsible for overseeing the corporate policy and compliance program, ensuring that contractual, statutory, regulatory, legal, and other corporate provisions are satisfied and complied with. He will also assist institutionalizing business, mission, technical standards, and best practices to ensure CSIOS continues to up level the effectiveness and efficiency of the cyber products and services it delivers.

“With advanced International Organization for Standardization, Capability Maturity Model Integration, Six Sigma, and Project Management Institute expertise, Tyson becomes another significant piece of the puzzle to the CSIOS’ vision.” said Mr. Cesar Pie, President and CEO of CSIOS. CSIOS Assists the USTRANSCOM CSSP Certify Its Continuous Improvement Program Under ISO 9001 Standards

CSIOS Corporation announced today that client U.S. Transportation Command’s Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) has certified its Continuous Improvement and Optimization Program under International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 (Quality Management System [QMS]).

The scope of the USTRANSCOM CSSP’s ISO certifications is “The provision of Defensive Cyberspace Operations services to U.S. Federal subscribers worldwide in accordance with Executive, National, Federal, Department of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and U.S. Transportation Command cyber doctrine and requirements.”

“In essence, there are 5 things that are important to every CSSP:operators(24/7 operators), thetechnologiesthey use, theprocessesthey follow, the cybersecurityservicesthey provision, and thesubscriber’s they protect. For each, there are data elements and sets defined by requirements (e.g., Executive, National, Federal, DOD) that need to be measured (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis). Through our custom and DCO made–to–measure QMS, the CSSP has established a framework to guide the regular collection of these data points through different collection methods for analysis and report for continuous improvement decision support.” said Cesar Pie, President and CEO of CSIOS Corporation. Mr. Pie added, “From process and resource efficiencies, cost savings, sustained readiness, mission assurance, and better service delivery levels, the benefits of our QMS will continue to unfold over time as the program matures.”

Mr. Clinton Hackney, Vice President of CSIOS’ Cyberspace Operations Division also commented, “Our QMS has allowed us to maintain an “always–ready–for–inspection” evidence library/document control; integrate periodic spot assessments, pre–inspection assistance visits, and annual mock inspections; and generate an annual continuous improvement report that includes lessons learned, best practices, findings, and recommendations. This is certain to become a new baseline standard across all DOD CSSPs.”
