CSIOS and Johns Hopkins University Collaborate to Advance ARL’s Intelligence Research and Development Mission

CSIOS Corporation and Johns Hopkins University collaborate to advance the United States (U.S.) Army Research Laboratory’s (ARL) Intelligence Research and Development (R&D) mission. This collaboration focuses on mission based situational awareness.

Johns Hopkins University is developing a prototype that will allow ARL’s Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) to enhance its data feed integration and analytics capabilities. This solution will assist operators in analyzing, diagnosing and visualizing near–real–time failures of information systems and networks, as well as their dependencies and impacts (technical and operational) during mission execution.

CSIOS is assisting ARL CSSP operators in their efforts to fuse, translate, and operationalize this prototype in order to provide near–real–time and contextual information for organizational decision making. "This prototype will support warning intelligence and cyber–attack sensing and warning activities, presenting mission impact data and information in visual context, to address questions such as: (1) Given the current state of cyber–attacks and exploitation activities against our organization, can the mission succeed? (2) Is there any part of our cybersecurity technical framework significantly impacting mission success? And (3) what are the weaknesses and impacts of loss or degradation of cyber mechanism or system X on the mission?" said Dr. Edmund Mitchell, CSIOS Chief Business Development Officer. Dr. Mitchell added, "Working in synergy with ARL and Hopkins, CSIOS will ensure full integration of the prototype at the ARL’s CSSP."

CSIOS and MIT Collaborate to Advance ARL’s Intelligence Research and Development Mission

CSIOS Corporation and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) collaborate to advance the United States (U.S.) Army Research Laboratory’s (ARL) Intelligence Research and Development (R&D) mission. This collaboration focuses on data exploration, discovery, enumeration, classification, and identification of cyber trends, actors, cyber–attack patterns, attributions, warning intelligence, and attack sensing and warning.

MIT is developing an intelligence prototype that will allow ARL’s Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) enhance its capabilities for rapid queries, assessment, analysis, and diagnosis of anomalous non–linear behavior at a quarantined analytic environment. This prototype will also provide near–real–time visual and hierarchal representations of cyber trends, actors, cyber–attack patterns, attributions, warning intelligence, and attack sensing and warning facilitating contextual information for swift and smart decision making.

CSIOS is assisting ARL CSSP operators to fuse, translate, and operationalize this prototype in order to provide near–real–time and contextual information for organizational decision making. “Cyber and intelligence operators need an isolated analytic environment solution with the built–in Swiss–army–knife–type mechanisms that support the rapid ingestion of large datasets from multiple sensor technologies for heterogeneous data analytics and sense making.” said Dr. Edmund Mitchell, CSIOS Chief Business Development Officer. Dr. Mitchell added, "Working in synergy with ARL and MIT, CSIOS will ensure the full integration of the prototype at ARL’s CSSP."
